An eight-week industrial electrical fit-out for MediaWorks’ premises at the Mount.
After completing a project for MediaWorks in Hamilton, Alectrics was brought in for its new premises in Tauranga. The fit-out included lighting, power, studio wiring, data networking and battery backup in the scope.
Much of the electrical installation would remain exposed, so how it looked mattered as much as how it worked. We worked closely with the architects and services engineers to coordinate the layout, avoid clashes with other services and achieve a clean finish.

Electrical Services for a Working Studio
Having already worked with MediaWorks in Hamilton, we understood their requirements for lighting, power and communications. For the Tauranga premises, our team wired the lighting and power throughout the space, including the studios, and installed the data networking.
The fit-out also included battery backup power designed to provide up to four hours of uninterrupted power during an outage.
An Exposed Installation with a Clean Finish
On this project, the electrical work was part of the visible space. That meant planning cable routes and equipment placement carefully before installation.
There was regular back and forth with the architects and services engineers to make sure the electrical work fitted alongside the other building services without clashes. The result was an installation that met MediaWorks’ operational needs and looked considered in the finished space.
